Welcome to the Producer Team! Here’s what you need to know before you can begin serving as a producer.
Let’s start with the Producer is not:
In the past, the Producer was the most knowledgeable technician on the team—the best troubleshooter or audio mixer. That’s not what we’re looking for! We need volunteers who can help staff lead other volunteers.
<aside> <img src="/icons/new-alert_gray.svg" alt="/icons/new-alert_gray.svg" width="40px" /> The Producer is the volunteer who leads the Production Team to execute the pastors’ vision for Sunday morning with our church alongside the church staff! The producer leads the Production Team to support the worship leaders and pastors. That means keeping clear lines of communication, leading through high value transitions, and completing specific tasks to make sure everything goes well—as well as being able to respond to technical issues or emergency situations.

Leading a team requires confidence, humility, and knowing the big picture. Your job on Sunday morning is vital to the whole team the way an air traffic controller is to an airport. There are so many moving pieces that no one person can keep it all together—no pastor, no staff member, no volunteer, etc. So the role of a Producer is to help the pastors and staff direct traffic on the Production Team to accomplish the service order with the Worship Team.

Producers are able to communicate information to everyone who needs it easier and faster than anyone else, so it is good to be prepared for an emergency situation.
