Our goal for you as a Front of House mixer is not that you would mix a perfect show, but that you would confidently help us lead our congregation in worship. Confidence requires work, and the work you put in demonstrates your character! Here’s a weekly schedule (Monday - Sunday) that will help you prepare to serve confidently as an audio mixer.

Sound Check
As the MD leads through sound check, here’s what you should listen for and do:
- Listen: Can you hear when someone plays? What does their instrument or voice sound like?

- Watch: Do you have enough gain to work with but not so much that the source is clipping?

- Do: Adjust gain and set channels at unity (read: -0dB).

Band Rehearsal
- Get your “drum sound” by mixing channels with the Drum Bus at unity. Then you can generally treat it as a single instrument!

- Adjust your Trim for each channel so most of your faders can sit around unity -0dB.

- Use EQ Sweeping to clean up all your sources, especially vocals.

- Adjust compressors to control sources as needed.
