The Manifesto of a Worshipping Team
Our mission as a church is to follow Jesus, love one another, and make disciple-makers. To do that, we gather, grow, and go! This is the foundation of all our ministries at Rock Point.
We believe the church should gather every week to worship God together through rehearsing the gospel through his Word. This is where we have a weekly opportunity to reorient our hearts to the Word and get re-energized for our common mission during the week. We want to exalt Jesus our treasure with captivated hearts that desire to be shaped by his Word in our gathering. Convictionally, we believe that the gathering should be organized in such a way to help the church “rehearse” the Gospel story and actively participate in biblical elements of worship: that we worship God by reading his Word, praying his Word, preaching his Word, and singing his Word. This vision of a church that treasures Jesus through his Word together excites us because we believe this will be the continual fuel in the furnace that powers the church on to Grow in small group discipleship and Go through sharing the gospel with compassion in our community!
With this purpose in mind, our goal for Rock Point Worship is to help our pastors lead this gathered worship according to the gifts God has given us. Rock Point Worship is one team that serves this singular vision from our pastors—and each of the musicians, vocalists, producers, and tech volunteers serve this vision in their respective roles. Our dream is to see a team that all knows this vision, can communicate it and help the rest of our church understand this beautiful purpose of our gathering, and can confidently serve in their role when called upon.
